Thursday, January 29, 2009 of the Big Things

I just got back from a bit of a road trip in Queensland and had to do a post on all the fabulous "Big Things" that the state has to offer. Unfortunatley I did miss quite a few such as the big pineapple, big macadamia nut and the big bundy rum bottle.... such a cultured country we live in

The Big Crab

The Not So Big Banana

Copy Cat

I bought some new shoes from Sportsgirl last week. On sale at $79.95 down from $129.95!!
Perfect 80's inspired velvet pumps that will work just oh so perfectly back with all the red leopard prints and leggings!

I figured being from Sportsgirl they had to be a copy of someones... lo and behold they are in fact Dolce & Gabbana. Pretty much identical I think:

Dolce & Gabbana version

Topshop SS09

The 80's/90's are officially back....
I am loving the clashing floral and tribal prints, light acid wash and cobwebby slashy details.

Let there be light

I am totally in love with this fantastic light shade. It is laser cut metal that just wraps around the bare bulb. I think it would look so perfect in my house and being a renter it means I won't have to go drilling holes in the ceiling..... but alas it is not available in Australia! Dammit!!

Seeing Red

For my entire life I have hated the colour red (except on my nails), even though being a scorpio means it is technically my colour.
But after finding this print for Minkpink I think I may have been converted....

Happy New Year!!

New years eve was spent at a house party in Neutral Bay. Finally we had some great weather and I was able to wear the 'I Ken Done It" Dress without fear of freezing.
We headed to Cremorne Point to watch the midnight fireworks and on the way back I managed to tread in a pile of mud (well i hope it was mud anyway) and ruined my shoes, luckily I had the forsight to wear cheap flat ones!!
Unfortunatly I forgot to take an outfit pic at the begining of the night, so I only have this one where I don't look too messy....

note the glowstick necklace and cocktail umbrella... nice and classy
